My husband is 77 years old and not especially athletic. Now he mainly swims for exercise. In his 60's he enjoyed horseback riding on the beach and I'm wondering if this experience would be safe and enjoyable for him (and the horse!). He would need a stool or platform in order to mount and dismount and weighs about 230 lb. It sounds like such a great way to view Palo Duro Canyon!

If he still has great balance then you should contact the company about age and weight limitations. But he does need balance as the terrain is varied and a bit steep. However, you will not get to ride “in” the canyon. You ride up to and on a plateau where you stop to look into the canyon. The property is pretty, and the view is great, but temper your expectations if you think this is a ride through the canyon.
We will have two of our grandchildren visiting us here in the Panhandle (ages 7 & 10), from AZ in Mid-May; would this be age appropriate entertainment? What should we be prepared to pay for: 1st Time Horse back? Chuck Wagon ride? Thanks y'all!
