Is the gate at the bottom of the hill locked overnight? I would to take some photos at dawn and don't mind walking up the hill, but would prefer not to!

I'm not sure if it gets locked at some point, but I've been there around 6pm and it was still open...
My parent is 80 years old, cannot walk much. After car park, do we still need to walk or climb for a while? Normal car can go up? or must be 4 wheel drive?

a normal car is fine. no not much walking at all your parents should be fine
