The Golden State Warriors landed Miami Heat veteran Jimmy Butler in hopes of hoisting the Larry O'Brien Trophy a final time with superstar Stephen Curry at the helm. However, it's quite obvious with the trade deadline past Butler was not their first choice of star to pair alongside Curry.

With each new franchise, Butler brings wins and, at times, controversy. But if it means a return to the mountaintop, Golden State is prepared for both. Melissa Rohlin has the scoop.

The Golden State Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler on Wednesday night and immediately agreed to a two-year, $111 million extension to keep him, if they want, through 2027, when the contracts of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are also set to expire.
