Just over 25 years after he was hired by Roger Penske to run 'The Captain's' racing organization, Tim Cindric has stepped down from his day-to-day role as team president.

Tim Cindric, president of Team Penske and Roger Penske’s longtime right-hand man on competition, will step back as the overall leader of the organization but remain president of the IndyCar program.

Tim Cindric will step away as the day-to-day leader of Team Penske’s racing programs. He’ll remain as the president of the organization’s IndyCar entries and oversee the team’s racing archives and historical assets.

Tim Cindric helped return Team Penske back to glory when he took over as Team President beginning in 2000. Over the last 25 years, Roger Penske's team has enjoyed great success.

Tim Cindric, long considered the right hand of Roger Penske, will step back from day-to-day duties leading racing operations for the organization. Cindric, who was inducted into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame just days ago,
