We have been following the potential new deal between chip stock Intel (INTC) and Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) for the last few days now, and new

TSMC has made no official announcements about expanding in the U.S. at the board meetings this week, but the rumor mill points to quicker expansion in Arizona and a joint venture with Intel.

As a work around, the Taiwanese behemoth could opt for a joint venture with the US based Intel Corp (NASDAQ: INTC), says Patrick Moorhead – the chief executive of Moor Insights. Moorhead agreed that an all-out acquisition of INTC is unlikely due to national security concerns.
