Werewolves are former humans that are afflicted with a hereditary curse. The most common way for a werewolf to be created is for a human to survive being scratched (or presumably bitten) by a transformed werewolf. The victim remains human for the more month prior to the next full moon, at which time they will transform.

Werewolves (classified Type 3) are a post- human supernatural species which, during the full moon every month, transform into fearsome, monstrous, wolf-like beasts. In their human form, a werewolf cannot be distinguished from normal humans, although their senses of smell and hearing seem to sharpen before and after the full moon.

George Sands is a fictional werewolf in the comedy-drama television series Being Human, portrayed by Russell Tovey. The male lead for the duration of the show's first three series appeared in 24 episodes of the drama, as well as in three Being Human novels .
