2021年9月12日 · I purchased a 03 V8 4runner back in November last year! Look for rust on frame, do the timing belt and water pump. Take it for a drive, see if you feel any shuddering coming from the front at 30-45 mph. Check out the cv axels as well, I replaced mine as the boots were busted. ENJOY! The best solution for this issue is the manual FJ transfer case swap.

Not having 2wd is ok, but the reason to get a 2wd V8 is because it has the max tow capacity. The mods on this one are just cosmetic and put you at risk of repairs. Getting a stock 4wd v6 will be cheaper, have better resale down the line, be just as reliable, remove the headaches of someone else's mods, and let you do some beach/snow/mud off ...

There are only 2 issues that I can think of that are something to keep an eye on once you have one. Secondary air injection pump failure.
