Here’s another look at some of the work I had the pleasure of creating for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which I worked on in 2020! Collaborating with the talented team at DNEG on this film was an incredible experience. Alongside a few keyframes, I also contributed to designing Carnage’s weapon. Excited to finally showcase this work here!

Our tasks were to develop the look of Carnage, his body transformations, his faces metamorphosis from Cletus into Carnage, his and Venom fighting styles, their body weapons and also creating cinematic keyframes for the prison escape and final battle.

Early in development Carnage was going to power up to truly massive proportions in what was dubbed "Uber form", it also incorporated Carnage with wings, something that pops up in the comics a few times. The climax of the sequence would see Carnage atop the cathedral whilst it is entirely engulfed in flame.

Here I explored a version of Carnage with an internal bio-luminescence to justify the glow. The idea was that Carnage interiors would glow when he is enraged or excited. Some of the early sketches I did to get to know the character.
