Joshua Safdie[2] (born April 3, 1984) [3] and Benjamin Safdie [2] (born February 24, 1986) [4] are independent American filmmakers and actors based in New York City, who frequently collaborate on their films.

He often collaborates with his brother Benny Safdie. The brothers have both cited early experiences in front of their father's camera as the reasons for their pursing filmmaking. Their father is not a filmmaker, though they are related to famed architect Moishe Safdie.
