The stage history of Antony and Cleopatra from the time Shakespeare wrote it to the present day. The Lord Chamberlain's records of 1669 tell us that Antony and Cleopatra was 'formerly acted at the Blackfriars'. This was the hall used by Shakespeare and his fellow King's Men for indoor performances in the seventeenth century.
