Quarterbacks receive the ball on just about every snap to start an offensive play. To do this, QBs start by lining up in the backfield, directly behind the Center who’s in charge of snapping the ball. Depending on the play, they’ll line up in one of two ways – (1) directly under center or (2) in shotgun formation.
