It’s not common to find a beach with waterfalls on their shore, but in this article I’ll share the 18 I’ve found so far that do as well as their locations and I’ll tell you right now, all of these places are gorgeous. Waterfalls are natural features where water flows over a vertical drop, while beaches are shorelines made of sand or pebbles by water bodies. Waterfalls are characterized by their dramatic scenery, where rivers or streams cascade over a precipice or a series of steep drops, creating a powerful display of water in motion.

As nouns the difference between beach and waterfall is that beach is the shore of a body of water, especially when sandy or pebbly while waterfall is a flow of water over the edge of a cliff. As verbs the difference between beach and waterfall is that beach is to run (something) aground on a beach while waterfall is to fall like a waterfall.

California has quite a few picturesque beach waterfalls and falls near beaches that are profiled below. Waterfalls that flow right onto the sand are a much more unique phenomenon – only two exist in California.
