2012年3月10日 · The Chicago drill seems to be much better, goes through the concrete like wood. I did snap a bit after 20 or so holes though. It has an SDS plus chuck, which is so much easier to work with, I was tightening drill bits every five minutes with the hammer drill.

2022年8月31日 · A hammer drill often breaks tile and a regular masonry bit is a poor choice. One of the diamond bits shaped like an arrow used in a regular drill is the best choice for tile. A hammer drill, SDS or not, works very well for concrete and those bits can be bought everywhere.

2024年10月20日 · Masonry bits don't cut through the material in the same way as wood or metal bits, and work much better when hammered to break up the concrete as they go. When you are drilling, give the bit a rest if you see it getting a bit hot.

2008年3月2日 · FWIW, using a cordless impact drill with masonry bits - no matter how good or expensive they may be - to drill into concrete is a waste of time and drill bits. Not enough ooomph or constant speed and BPM's to get the job done. For those reasons, I never regretted selling my DeWalt 18V impact drill or buying my corded Bosch to replace it.

2024年1月29日 · Hard metal? that is a loaded statement. Different drill bits work on different metals. 440 C stainless steel is the toughest I have found in a long while. A carbide bit with an oil pool and the drill on low rpms, I created all the holes I needed. Some swear by Titanium or coated bits. I find the type of bit is important some times.

It gives me lots of links, but when I click on them I only see black oxide bits in that size or drill bit sharpeners in that size, but never actual 3/32nd masonry bits. Thus, sifting through google results on this particular search is what I can only imagine a brain aneurism must feel like.

2012年6月13日 · Tony is right. Use a hammer drill with masonry bits. Makes all the difference. First time I'd ever used one was after wasting time using a masonry bit in a regular drill. Barely any progress. With the hammer setting (corded 1/2" capable hammer drill) it drilled out the hole literally in seconds.

Tightened the drill bit into my Makita drill (it is a one-speed but has a hammer drill option) and gave it a whirl only to find that there's a huge wobble at the tip of the drill bit!
