Canterbury Cathedral - Rick Steves Travel Forum
Mar 13, 2011 · Westminster Abbey, St Paul's in London. St George's Chapel, Salisbury Cathedral and Winchester Cathedral to the west of London in my view are more impressive archtecturally than Canterbury and could conceivably be visited in one day or mix and matched with other worthwhile places like Stonehenge, Oxford and Bath in the same vicinity.
Bath or Canterbury with White Cliffs of Dover - Rick Steves
Dec 10, 2023 · The choir I sing with spent a week in residence at Canterbury Cathedral in 2019, substituting for their regular choir, which was on vacation. The cathedral is definitely worth seeing, absolutely huge and just full of history. It's also a very pleasant city with a pedestrianized downtown with farmer's market stalls and good restaurants.

A day to Leeds Castle, Canterbury Cathedral and White Cliffs
Jun 8, 2022 · Leeds Castle can easily fill 4-5 hours. It’s going to take at least an hour to travel to Canterbury, park and walk to the Cathedral. Presumably you want at least an hour there - the tours are 60 or 75 minutes long. The drive to Dover, assuming you don’t get stuck in cross channel traffic is around 45 minutes.
Taxi from Heathrow to Canterbury Cathedral - Rick Steves
May 3, 2023 · I'd suggest that you take a taxi to St Pancras train station or Victoria train station where you can get a train to Canterbury - which is about an hour ride. Then the walk to the hotel at Canterbury Cathedral is not long - but you could get a taxi from the train station. Check sites like Rail Europe for information about train times.

daytrip by train to Canterbury and Dover - Rick Steves
Jun 17, 2014 · From either Canterbury station, it's a ten-minute walk to the cathedral. From Dover Priory it'd take about a half hour by bus and walking to get up to the castle which has a pretty good view of the cliffs. What I don't know is if it's Canterbury East or West where you hop the train to Dover, but I'd bet it's not both.
