Also referred to as milled cotton fibers, cotton flock is used as a filler to thicken epoxy resins or to promote adhesion between laminate layers. It offers dimensional stability and enhance compound strength.

Cotton Flock is a versatile filler made from pure cotton using a unique manufacturing process. Its fine grade filler makes it an ideal thickening agent for general purpose adhesives, especially when combined with epoxy.

Cotton flock, or pulverized cotton, has been used for decades as a filler and reinforcement fiber in various industrial markets. Now, it can be used as a more sustainable option in nonwoven coform substrates.

Flock can be made from natural or synthetic materials such as cotton, rayon, nylon and polyester. There are two types of flock - milled and cut. Milled flock is produced from cotton or synthetic textile waste material. Because of the manufacturing process, milled flock is not uniform in length.

Mix in just enough flock to make the mixture stand up. If “wet flox” is called out, mix it so it will not sag or run. “Flox” is often used to reinforce sharp corners to give more structural integrity.
