
U.S. Divorce Rates Down, Marriage Rates Stagnant From 2012-2022
During the same period, divorce rates dropped from 9.8 to 7.1. Figure 1 shows women’s marriage and divorce rates nationally from 2008 until 2022. Note that data are not shown for 2020 due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on data collection. From 2008 to 2022, the national divorce rate declined from just over 10.0 to about 7.0.
