Library Card Contest: Fairyland Edition! Deadline Extension : February 2, 2025. In celebration of Children’s Fairyland's 75th anniversary in 2025, we’re teaming up with the Oakland Public Library and inviting children in our community to submit designs for a future library card.

Our magical mid-century 10-acre park is a fantasy world where young children can create, imagine, play, and learn all day long, located on the shores of Lake Merritt in Oakland, California.

Children’s Fairyland cares about the safety of you and your family. Please take a moment to read our safety guidelines to understand what you can expect from your visit. Then, go ahead and secure your spot. Children (ages 1-17): $17. Adults (ages 18+): $19. Guests with an EBT, SNAP/CalFresh, BIC or WIC card: $5 (limit to 8 tickets per household)

From staged delights to magical annual celebrations, merriment awaits at Children’s Fairyland. Whether you’d like to catch a show at the longest-running puppet theater in the United States or raise a glass at our annual gala dinner, we’ve got you covered.

Fairyland’s rides are designed to be colorful, fantasy-filled, and enjoyable for even very young children. You’ll never find a “thrill ride” at Fairyland, but you will find fun and laughter. Jolly Trolly: This kid-size train is our oldest ride, installed in 1954.

The park thrived, and in 1956, the City of Oakland Parks and Recreation Department hired Burton Weber to promote the wonders inside Fairyland’s gates. Mr. Weber created a program for young children called Fairyland Personalities, which is still part of our Children’s Theatre program.
