I am an interdisciplinary sociologist with an interest in social theory and the cultural and historical analysis of social and political questions. I am especially interested in the comparative analysis of modernity in global perspective and in social change in Europe.

In his new book, Gerard Delanty tackles these mammoth questions by reconstructing and critiquing the main “theories of the future” in modern thought. While Delanty interrogates past notions of the future, his central argument is firmly rooted in the present.

2023年6月8日 · Gerard Delanty is Emeritus Professor of Sociology and Social & Political Thought at Sussex University, which he joined in 2007. He had been previously Professor of Sociology at the University of Liverpool, which he joined in 1996.
