2023年10月30日 · Cross-sections are two-dimensional, axial views of gross anatomical structures seen in transverse planes. They are obtained by taking imaginary slices perpendicular to the main axis of organs, vessels, nerves, bones, soft tissue, or even the entire human body.

This MRI brain cross-sectional anatomy tool is absolutely free to use. Use the mouse scroll wheel to move the images up and down, or alternatively, use the tiny arrows (→) on both sides of the image to navigate through the images.

In this atlas you can view MRI sections through a living human brain as well as corresponding sections stained for cell bodies or for nerve fibers. The stained sections are from a different brain than the one which was scanned for the MRI images.

Consistent slice numbers and metric measures allow to cross reference the atlas data from the flash applications with high detail images from the sections area. The sectional Brain Atlas focuses only on the anatomical structures while both the schematic and slice view are used to represent the area of interest.
