In addition, jellyfin-media-player's underlying web client seems to react quickly to server-side changes, e.g. after finishing an episode of a TV show the "Next Up" episode appears instantly. With jellyfin-desktop, it would take 15-20 second to appear.

I could be doing something wrong but I have been struggling with getting good playback for a while and with jellyfine media player vlc is the first thing I have used that works good

While Jellyfin Desktop is a great application, having the media play directly in the client with the Jellyfin player is wonderful. Thanks for your work! Edit: Also a Flatpak would be beyond great for future releases of this client, assuming you continue working on it :)

2023年2月13日 · Jellyfin Media Player is more polished and has the full Jellyfin web UI with the power of the MPV playback engine. MPV Shim is more customizable and runs in the background. It does not use the full Jellyfin UI but instead opens the MPV UI whenever you play something from the web app with it selected as the target to cast to.

2022年3月14日 · Could you post your logs (ffmpeg logs from the jellyfin dashboard). Also, what is the playback client? If you're on a laptop, is it just a browser that you're using? And what's the format of the video? If you're on a windows laptop, trying using Jellyfin Media Player which can play a ton of content without transcoding.

2022年1月2日 · Fire TV Stick + Jellyfin official or Kodi - great on a tighter budget but OS level ads are annoying and UI isn’t great. Computers (MacBook Pro and Win 10 machine) + Kodi or Jellyfin Media Player or Shim - these clients are good when using a mouse/keyboard but I don’t really watch things on traditional computers.
