2014年4月18日 · Low-Light Vision - Why? So I'm an Elf. One of my friends is Human, and the other is a Dwarf. We enter a cave room. It is pitch black. I cast my Light-cantrip. So now we have light 20 feet into the cave, and dim-light for another 20. The Dwarf doesn't care much.

So if a person with normal sight could see things a mile away when looking across a barren field in the middle of the day, a person with Darkvision would see the same thing if it was pitch black.

If there is some, but not much, light, then low-light applies. Darkvision does not make hiding in shadows useless unless it's already almost pitch dark, so that the vision kicks in.

Or you could swap it for Improved Hearing and Smell - that way those 'perceptive' races still get a slight early warning, but you can play up the tension as you describe something that sounds weird or horrifying, or smells terrible, well before anyone can actually see it.

2007年6月12日 · If you have low-light vision, you count shadowy illumination as brightly lit. The end. So, for example, a torch illuminates 20' brightly and up to 40' of shadowy illumination. For someone with low-light vision, that's 40' of bright illumination. A moonlit night is shadowy all over; for someone with low-light vision, that's just like daytime.

A half-dragon has immunity to sleep and paralysis effects, and an additional immunity based on its dragon variety. Vision is not expressed as a bonus. You have 60' Darkvision, not Darkvision +60'. That is the vital difference.
Feat to grant lowlight vision? - EN World
2005年3月30日 · I find myself in the dark quite often and find that I can function with the dimmest of light. So I am wondering if it would be unbalancing to allow a DnD feat that grants low light vision to someone that doesn't have it out to 30 feet. Thoughts?
