2012年12月11日 · Mamaloshen is the Yiddish word for "mother's tongue" and refers to Yiddish. It was the language that the mother spoke in the house, where Hebrew and Aramaic were the languages spoken by the father in his prayers and studying. There is a sense of heimishkeit (sorry, that one doesn't translate as easily) associated with the word though.
