FreeCAD vs DesignSpark Mechanical ? - FreeCAD Forum
2016年4月9日 · The main thing to know about DesignSpark Mechanical is that it's not really free. Yes, the 3D modeling part of the software is free, but if you want to make 2D engineering drawings (like most engineers will) you have to buy the DesignSpark Mechanical Drawing add-on. I don't like the deceptive marketing they're doing.
Changing infill on specific region of a part? - FreeCAD Forum
2018年10月10日 · I'd like to increase the infill to 100% in just the screw regions, to produce a stronger mechanical joint, while at the same time, maintain 20% infill for the rest of the beam. Here's a picture, and an attached example file, of a beam 1/4 inch square by 3 inches, with 1/2 inch long holes in each end:
How to determine mass of a body? - FreeCAD Forum
2024年7月20日 · I'm trying to determine the mass of a Part Design Body. I've assigned one of the aluminums as the material but can't figure out how to display the mass of the object.
Suitable font for Drawing Module - FreeCAD Forum
2013年8月2日 · However, with the closed four, and arced six and nine, romans.shx typeface could be difficult to read in reductions. In more recent revisions of software packages, the TrueType font ISOCPEUR reliably reproduces the original drawing board lettering stencil style, however, many drawings have switched to the ubiquitous Arial.ttf.
Create manufacturing drawing from 3D part - FreeCAD Forum
2014年8月2日 · There is an alternate way to add dimensions to drawing views, but it's a two-part process: Add Draft Dimensions to the 3D model; Project them to the drawing page with the Draft Drawing tool. Some time ago I made a quick video showing the process for another newcomer.
arch / 2D Floor plan with dimension chains - FreeCAD Forum
2024年2月7日 · Ultimately, I need to create a Page in the TechDraw workbench (I chose one of the the A3 landscape ISO templates). This allows me to define the scale of the drawing. To model walls, doors and windows, I use the arch workbench. This allows me to setup e.g. door arcs and the desired style of the windows.
Issue #5694 Broken View - FreeCAD Forum
The now withdrawn ISO 128-24:2014 says (as I interpret it anyway) that you should preferably use a continuous narrow freehand line (1.1.18) to indicate the termination of an interrupted view, but also provides an alternative for "mechanical drafting" (which I assume covers CAD), a continuous narrow line with zig-zags (1.1.19):
Design and build of a mostly 3D printed watch - FreeCAD Forum
2020年10月25日 · I have been drawing stuff on paper for over 50 years For me the best way to learn is to have a project Then it is to find a way to use the tool I have to produce the result I want For me, the topological naming issue is not a big deal Everything that can be based on a sketch can be rock solid, chamfers and filets, just do them last! My workflow:
Planning on Using FreeCAD for Freelancing - FreeCAD Forum
2021年7月31日 · You're absolutely correct. I recently got into mechanical design once i realized that my hobby software project ideas started to become more hardware based. I came to know that learning linear algebra will help me to fully grasp both subjects. Thanks for the advice.
