2001年12月6日 · I always start with body on any model, as the time spent primering and drying can be spent assembling the rest of the kit. So to spray a solid colour I do the following... The body has the mold lines removed with a set of needle pliers, before finishing the whole body with a rub down using 800 grade wet and dry paper.

2004年6月25日 · First off I'll explain what I'm doing. I'm painting a model light gunmetal with silver racing stripes. Both colors are metallic, and from what I've read, it dosen't matter which of these I spray first because the silver can easily cover up the gunmetal even though it's the lighter color, but a suggestion would be helpful.

2024年9月11日 · Good to know. The other issue for me is making all the cars for it to haul. I started doing a brand new ZR1 collection for it and made it as far as painting 8 bodies in the various available colors and making vacuum formed side windows before I realized how bad the AMT kits actually looked when finished.

2010年12月2日 · Donn Yost, who has a popular DVD on painting model cars, almost exclusively uses old-school enamels thinned w/lacquer thinner. I have award-winning models w/award-winning paint (best paint at the GSL in '97) with a model shot in Testors enamels thinned w/lacquer thinner. I use the cheap lacquer thinner that you can get at Walmart, Home Depot, etc.
