Dedicated in 1983, Sunset Cliffs Natural Park is a 68-acre resource-based park stretching along the Pacific Ocean bordering the western edge of Point Loma. The 18-acre linear section of the park lies to the west of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard between Adair and Ladera streets.

The project site is located at 1371 Sunset Cliffs Boulevard in the RM-1-1 and CC-4-2 zones, the Coastal Zone (Appealable and Non-Appealable Areas), the Coastal Height Limitation Overlay Zone, the FAA Part 77 Noticing Area, and the Ocean Beach Cottage Emerging Historical District within the Ocean Beach Community Plan.
