I'm wanting to know what's involved with a total frame replacement to guage whether I want to tackle this myself but having trouble finding the oft-referenced guides on frame replacement here.

Toyota included the antenna wrench tool in the glove box with the FJ when it was new so that you could easily remove the antenna when going through a car wash or to prevent damage when off-roading. If you've lost your original antenna tool, it is Toyota part no: 863A2-0C010.
