Greenwich Locksmith is the smallest free-standing building in New York City at 125 square feet. It was constructed in 1921 as a tire repair shop and had a few different lives between then and 1980 when it was bought for $20k by a young locksmith, Phil Mortillaro. It was perfect for what Phil wanted to do with it, but he wasn’t happy with the facade of the building so her plastered over 25,000 keys to help give it a facelift.
