The story of Manila Central University (MCU) began in 1903 when Dr. Alejandro Albert started a small class. This class grew into the Escuela de Farmacia del Liceo de Manila in 1904. Dr. Albert, along with other faculty members, laid the foundation for the Manila College of Pharmacy. It was the first Filipino-run educational institution of its kind.
